Putting Fun Back In DysFUNctional

We have regular "staff meetings" where the boss shares information down to us. That's good as far as it goes. There is no real authentic discussion. It's neither solicited nor appreciated. No problem solving without posing. None. Towards the end we are invited to share any information we might like. It's the end, for god's sake, so mostly we don't.

But today I had a funny idea to share something and I spoke up at our meeting and said this, just for the fun of it:

"I think having all this information at the desktop is great!"

I codified this statement immediately after delivered in the category of: "stupid obvious executive statements." (I actually am considered an executive in our pecking order, but of a clearly lower order if you catch my drift.)

Today at lunch I whittled down my description of what I said today to this: "A non-contributing contribution."

They are legion in the corporate world.
I'm sure that Dad would chastise me for behaving this way at our meetings since I don't follow his etiquette very well. Oh well.
