It's the law now in the Golden State. Tickets for anyone caught using a cell phone conventionally while driving. Texting though, is NOT covered in the law!
Here's an inexpensive and immediate solution to the hands-free requirement. Works with 90% of all phone models.

Hilarious! My daughter told me that yesterday ... and she wouldn't be calling me from the car until she got her setup.
Texting is worse! We had a shuttle driver texting the entire time from downtown SF to the airport. A passenger complained, but he wouldn't quit.
