said this at a fund raiser in San Francisco in April of 2011:
"No matter who you are. No matter where you can came from. No matter what you look like. No matter whether your ancestors landed here on Ellis Island or came here on slave ships or came across the Rio Grande, we are all connected. We will rise and fall together. That's the vision of America I've got, that's the idea of the heart of America.
So you see, he is only being consistent with the vision of America that he's got when he non-legislatively gave people here illegally a free pass. He made no distinction last year between those that came here through the immigration process set up under law and those who crossed the river in the dark of night, climbed over a fence or two and helped themselves to our country.
And then can someone please explain how people illegally here can serve in the U.S. Military?
I actually think this entire discussion/issue is a ploy by Team Obama to get everyone's eye off the ball of the real issues: jobs, unemployment, national debt, our bankruptcy, our terrible education results, heath care, the ridiculous growth of government and a worrisome domestic security apparatus that has arisen since 9/11, our selling our souls and country to the highest corporate bidder, our perpetual wars. Obama's leadership has been dreadful and he has not real record to run on.
The immigration issue gets heated up every four years or so and most everybody bites.
This post proves it.
