Jb requests E's consideration of the Doobie Brothers with Tom Johnston specifically the musical grand slam of Listen to the Music, China Grove, Long Train Runnin' and Jesus Is Just Alright. The guitar work was signature classic. Volume Up!
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers "Don't Do Me Like That". Beach Boys "Don't Worry Baby". Led Zeppelin "Over the Hills and Far Away". Bruce Springsteen "Jungleland". Steely Dan "Reeling In The Years". Initial thoughts.
Jb and Kurt: Your nominations will be taken under advisement by the selection committee in my head, specifically, my ears.
Thanks so much for supporting E's Hall of Fame for Perfect Songs.
E.
Jackson Browne--These Days--first hears it in high school, heard it yesterday in the grocery store and told the checker it sounded as perfect now as it did then--he called for security---Linda Rostadt--Lose Again-Karla Bonoff song she knocks out of the park-the Who-Won't Get Fooled Again , Wilco--One Sunday Morning--Just a couple off the top of my head--Are there prizes involved?
Plenty of prizes no doubt... In addition to the vintage doobie brothers' tunes, I'd like to second reelin in the years and won't get fooled again. Brilliant recommendations. All "volume up" candidates. About those prizes...
Bob can't spell, his sentence structure is weak and his picks are laughable. How could he leave out Hurricane from Neil Young?
Fabulous nominations all. They will all be vetted over time and if deemed "perfect" duly inducted into my second Hall of Fame. Inductions with proper citations will serve as your "prizes."
Thanks so very much for your devotion to great songs. E.
